stock request a quote medical illustration pricing guide about artist contact for medical illustration

What is stock illustration?

Stock medical illustration is another term for licensed artwork and is an alternative to custom medical illustration. Stock medical art can help your company or practice communicate medical concepts at a fraction of the cost of custom illustration. The license allows the buyer to use the illustration for a period of time under the terms of the license agreement. Copyright or ownership of the illustration is not transferred to the client.

How are the fees set for a stock illustration?
Stock medical illustration is priced per illustration based on usage. Factors that affect the cost include:

  • How many illustrations are needed? A discount may be given for large projects.
  • How will the illustration be used?
  • Will the illustrations be used electronically (web or CD) as well as in print?
  • Will the images be used in a way that will be resold?
  • How long will the illustration be used?
  • How many times will the illustration be used?
  • What is the target audience or market for the illustration project?

The quote request form asks important questions that I will use to estimate the stock art fee.

How is payment handled?
An invoice that reflects the agreed upon price is sent to the client after an license agreement is signed. Standard payment terms are 15 days from receipt of invoice. All payment information is clearly described in the license agreement. For some new clients, a deposit may be required. If credit card payment is required, that can be arranged.

What if I don’t see the exact illustration I need?
The collection is updated often, but if an image you need is not in the current collection contact me to initiate a custom project.
